Microbiologique OnSite Gluten Test Kit

The Microbiologique OnSite® Gluten Test Kit is a lateral flow assay designed to rapidly detect gluten from wheat, barley, and rye in a variety of baked and raw foods (solids, powders, and liquids) and on environmental surfaces. The kit is based on the monoclonal antibody 2D4 configured in sandwich format. 2D4 replicated the characteristics of the R5 antibody while additionally detecting deaminated gluten as well. OnSite® Gluten has a detection limit of 11µg/100cm² gluten on surfaces. The LOD can be variably adjusted to 5, 10, or 20 mg/kt (ppm) gluten in food products, depending on the matrix and the user’s individual needs. To operate the kit, the sample is briefly extracted, diluted in a running buffer, and then directly applied to the device. The fluid is then wicked across the reagent zone, which includes a procedural control line (C) and a test line (T). The test outcome is interpreted by visualizing the appearance of these lines after 10 minutes.

The OnSite Gluten Test Kit is certified as an AOAC Performance Tested Methods (Certificate No. 012501) validated method. This recognition underscores the kit’s reliability and accuracy in the qualitative detection of wheat, barley, and rye gluten in select food matrices and on stainless steel surfaces. Additionally, the OnSite Gluten Test Kit has been extensively validated by IEH’s ISO17025-accredited laboratory.  

The assay is intended for laboratory and industry use, including within food production facilities, commercial kitchens, contract laboratories, and auditing programs. Testing should only be performed by trained personnel.
