CHEMetrics Phenols Test Kits
Phenol is a common organic chemical known by names including benzenol, carbolic acid, phenolic acid, and hydroxybenzene (C6H5OH). It is the simplest chemical form of a group of similar organic chemicals called phenols or phenolics. Phenols are a type of aromatic chemical compound characterized by having one or more hydroxyl groups bonded to a phenyl group. Cresols, xylenols, and catechols fall under this umbrella. Phenols occur in nature but can also be generated from industrial processes.
Since phenol is a common chemical used in manufacturing, its presence in water can be an indicator of industrial pollution. It can persist in water for weeks. Phenol is of a particular concern for drinking water as even low levels of phenol can affect color and odor, especially upon chlorination.
Vacu-Vials Kits are instrumental kits that come in a cardboard box and contains everything needed to perform 30 tests (except distilled water): 30 ampules, Stabilizer Solution, Catalyzer Solution, Activator Solution, 25mL sample cup, 3mL syringe, ampoule blank, and instructions. These kits require the use of the V-3000 photometer or a spectrophotometer capable of accepting a 13mm diameter round cell (sold separately).
CHEMets Kits are visual kits that come in a plastic case and contains everything needed to perform 30 tests (except distilled water): 30 Ampule Refill, Comparator, Stabilizer Solution, Catalyzer Solution, Activator Solution, 25mL sample cup, 3mL syringe, and instructions.
