Lin’s Wild Yeast Medium (LWYM)
Weber Brand Lin's Wild Yeast Medium (LWYM) is used for the selection and enumeration of Saccharomyces wild yeast, while simultaneously inhibiting the growth of brewing culture yeast. LWYM can be used to screen beer samples for unwanted spoilage yeast, even in the presence of desirable brewing culture yeast strains. The Weber LWYM is an ideal medium for the detection of the following beer spoilage organisms:
- Candida spp.
- Saccharomyces bayanus.
- Saccharomyces uvarum
- Conforms to American Society of Brewing Chemists standard methods and formulation.
- Separate addition of crystal violet allows for precise control over selectivity of the medium.
Package Quantity Contains 500 g dehydrated media. Prepares approximately 1000 standard diameter petri dishes.
