No learning curve. The easiest and most reliable liquid and water pH tester.

  • Simple
  • Reliable
  • Durable
  • Affordable

This is why the Hanna pH Checker is the most trusted pH reader on Earth.

  • A single button push is all you need to use your Hanna digital ph tester.
  • The battery lasts about 3,000 hours, so you might never have to replace it.
  • To replace the pH checker electrode, unscrew it at the meter body and screw on the new pH electrode. It’s easier than most electric toothbrushes.

The shape of the electrode makes it ideal for test tubes and vials, but of course it’s used in dozens of other settings outside the traditional lab.

So of all the PH meters I have tried… wish I would have bought this one first. It works well. Very well. I have not had to recalibrate this after many uses thus far. I just calibrated a full time apex ph monitor for my salt water tank and while doing so decided to check it against the Hanna. After many many uses I put the Hanna probe in the 7.00 and the 10.00 calibration fluid and it was still spot on. I do follow the directions though and after each use I dip it in RO and keep a bit of 4.01 calibration fluid or the storage fluid in the sensor cover.

There’s no easier, more economical, durable pH water tester.

For 99% of users, this is the only pH meter you’ll ever need. And it will cost you less than a penny per hour over the lifetime of the pH checker.

How to use a pH tester (including how to calibrate a pH tester)

The Hanna pH Checker is uniquely easy to use.

To calibrate:

  1. Turn the pH tester on.
  2. Remove the electrode tip cover and rinse with purified water.
  3. Submerge in your buffer and hold the button until “CAL” appears.
  4. The buffer will be automatically recognized.
  5. Keep the probe submerged until a pH of 4 is displayed.
  6. Rinse.
  7. Place in 4 or 10 buffer again.
  8. “Sto” will display on the screen when the buffer calibration is complete and the pH Checker returns to measurement mode.

To measure with your Hanna pH pen:

  1. Rinse the electrode.
  2. Submerge in your sample.
  3. The stability indicator (it looks like an hourglass on the left side of the display) will disappear when the measurement is stable.

To clear your pH Checker calibration:

  1. Hold the button until “CAL” appears.
  2. Release.
  3. Hold the button until “Clr” appears

To power down your Hanna pH tester:

  1. Add a few drops of storage solution to the cap.
  2. Push the button once.
