Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) for Iodine Detection (Hanna Instruments)
Iodine is sometimes used as a disinfectant for the potable water and poultry industries. The rapid determination of iodine is required for adequate control of this bactericide. This product bridges the gap between simple chemical test kits and professional instrumentation. Accurate and affordable, Checker HC portable handheld colorimeters for iodine detection feature a resolution of 0.01 ppm (125 points) and an accuracy of ±5% of reading ±0.01. They also use a modification of the DPD method for residual chlorine. The contoured style fits in your palm and pocket and the large LCD is easy to read. An auto shut-off feature prevents the battery from draining if you do not shut off the meter.
To use, zero the instrument with the water sample. Next, add the reagent. Finally, place the vial into the Checker HC, press the button and read the results.
